Fictitious Paper Trading Account
The strategy for this paper trading account is identifying companies with a Piotroski score greater or equal to 6, a P/E ratio between 5 and 15, strong revenue growth with high return on equity and low debt (at the time of acquisition). After screening the health, growth, and profitability of the firm, I look for macroeconomic trends that drive revenue and make an impact on the business of screened companies. Following the mantra “Wall Street loves it winners and hates its losers” I review which sectors and industries have been performing well recently and sift down another layer to tickers within high performing areas. Finally, high level technical analysis is done to check moving averages and 52 week average positioning. The goal is to get at minimum 5% return per stock before selecting another.
